Environmental crime penalties increased

Three fines for environmental offences in the district have been increased after a meeting of Blaby District Council's Cabinet Executive.

The Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) amount for those caught littering and distributing free literature on land without permission has been increased from £75 to £150. The early payment amount has also been increased from £65 to £100.

Lubbesthorpe school plans approved

Lubbesthorpe school plans approved

The first primary school in New Lubbesthorpe has been approved, with construction set to begin in June.

Blaby District Council approved plans submitted by the Drummond Estate to construct a 420-place, two-form entry primary school required as part of the Section 106 Agreement earlier this month.

FULL CLOSURE OF THE M1 BETWEEN JUNCTION 23A AND JUNCTION 24 IN BOTH DIRECTIONS

The M1 will be closing in both directions from 22:00 hours, Friday 11th May and will remain closed until 15:00 hours, Sunday 13th May.

The closure will be in place whilst a new bridge is lifted over the M1 between J23a and J24.

The alternative diversion will be signed along the A453 from the M1 and A42 (J23a) to the M1 (J24).

Consultation on traffic calming measures on Beggars Lane/Warren Lane

Leicestershire County Council will be holding a public consultation on Wednesday 11th, Thursday 12th and Friday 13th April between 2.30pm and 6.30pm at the Parish Hall, Kings Drive, in regard to the proposed traffic calming measures to be installed on Beggars Lane and Warren Lane, and in Kirby Muxloe - Maytree Drive and Barry Drive.
