Blaby District Council's Consultation on Waste Collection Changes opens .....the Parish Council urges all residents to respond to this Consultation

A four-week consultation is to be launched on Blaby District Council's plans to change its refuse and recycling collections from June 2018, following a substantial reduction in funding.

£740,000 will be lost from June 2018, including £505,000 in recycling credits from Leicestershire County Council. The remaining £235,000 of a five-year, £2 million Central Government grant awarded in 2013 to run weekly.. Read More »

Young people are accessing Stafford Leys Primary School premises via the fencing around the Forest East Park.

Not only is this a dangerous activity as they have to negotiate the spiked railings but it is also trespass.

If you see anyone trying to access the school premises please ring the School Office or report to the Parish Council.

Conservation Volunteers

Conservation Volunteers

have been working in the Spinney again and continuing their good work. They have put up some bird/bat boxes.

They will also be in the Forest East Park on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th of October continuing their work around the perimeter of the park.

If you would like to join the Volunteers please do go and have a chat with them.

Small Business Rate Relief Launched

Grant funding to support small businesses in the District of Blaby will be handed out over a four-year period after approval from Councillors.

£336,000 of funding from Central Government has been provided following the Spring Budget 2017, which announced business ratepayers would face large increases following the loss of small business or rural rate relief.
