Chritmas Bin Collections 2017

With Christmas just around the corner, Blaby District Council has arranged its refuse and recycling collections over the festive period:

There will be no collections between 25-29 December

Residents will receive a normal collection from Tuesday 02 January 2018.

Those with a scheduled collection day of Monday 01 January will have their bins collected on Saturday 30 December.

Three prosecuted for dog chipping offences

Three dog owners have been prosecuted for failing to ensure their pets' microchip details were up to date.

Under The Microchipping of Dogs (England) Regulations 2015, dog owners must have their pet microchipped, and for all details to have the most recent information with contact details for a dogs' keeper.

An Aboroculturist has been ordered to pay £569 by Leicester Magistrates' Court for unauthorised work on two trees in Littlethorpe under Tree Preservation Orders (TPO.)

Thomas Bale, of Fleckney-based Long Field Tree and Hedge Care Ltd, undertook work on a Horse Chestnut Tree and Lime Tree in April. Both trees have been protected under a TPO since 2011.. Read More »

In the last six months more than nine hundred vans have been broken into across Leicestershire and Rutland and thousands of pounds worth of tools have been stolen.

Businesses in the District of Blaby are being offered free Eco Driver training courses as part of a clean air initiative.

The one-hour sessions with an eco-driving expert will help those who drive as part of their job or commute to work in their car to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
