The Wind in the Willows

The Wind in the Willows

Sat, 02 Dec 2017 18:00

This exuberant, award-winning puppet company works its magic on a beautiful new adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's evergreen classic riverbank story: gleeful larks, messing about in boats, incorrigible amphibians, 'poop-poop', the menacing Wild Wood, wicked weasels and an almighty dustup to finish with.

Join jittery Ratty, amiable Mole, bluff Badger and swaggering Toad on their marvellous adventures. With fantastic homespun fabric puppetry and completely charming original music, the show generates non-stop energy and high good humour from its two-strong cast, wowing audiences.

'Loaded with charm... beautifully crafted.' The Stage

"Another Mother's Son"

Category: Drama. UK 2017, (12A), 1hr 45min.

Based on the true story of Louisa Gould, the drama is set during World War II on the Nazi-occupied island of Jersey. Lou took in an escaped Russian POW and hid him over the war's course. The tension mounts as it becomes clear that Churchill will not risk an assault to recapture the British soil, and the island-community spirit begins to fray under pressures of hunger, occupation and divided loyalty. Against this backdrop, Lou fights to preserve her family's sense of humanity and to protect the Russian boy as if he was her own..

Cast: Susan Hampshire, Jenny Seagrove, John Hannah, Julian Kostov, Ronan Keeting

Venue: the Parish Hall, Kings Drive, LFE. Cost: £5.

On arrival complimentary hot drink and biscuits are provided.

You also get a free raffle ticket for a double ticket prize to be used for a future showing.
